Born in São Paulo, Brazil and raised in the great recording studios and night clubs of Chicago, award-winning singer songwriter and producer, Carla Hassett, blends the best of her American and Brazilian musical roots into one cohesive, inspiring, fun, and fresh sound.
Carla has toured and recorded as a lead and backup singer with Billy Idol, REO Speedwagon, Sergio Mendes, Christopher Cross, Cristan Castro, actor/musician Gary Sinise, soul legend Solmon Burke, Natalie Cole, Nelly Furtado, Seu Jorge, Natalia Lafourcade, Caetano Veloso, Gino Vannelli, Enrique Bunbury, Paula Fernandes, Flora Purim and Airto Moreira, and Mike Patton.
Carla sang on numerous feature films, TV shows, and commercials, including the Oscar nominated film RIO, RIO 2, Mozart in the Jungle, and Like Father.

Producer and Songwriter
Carla has produced three critically acclaimed albums (NPR, Rolling Stone Brasil, URB, Music Connection, Jazz Weekly) and several singles, including the track that won her the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
BURL Audio has made Carla their face of home recording and production.
Carla graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in music production from Berklee College of Music.
Berklee recruited Carla to teach music production at Berklee Online and she also teaches commercial songwriting at California State University, Los Angeles.
