Over his four-decade career in the music industry, Steven Scharf worked in nearly every possible aspect of the business. In 1991, after nearly 20 years of working as an independent record producer and head of A&R at Private Stock Records, he launched his own management and consulting firm Steven Scharf Entertainment as a joint venture with legendary music publisher Freddy Bienstock.

Through this venture, Steven managed many highly successful record producers, film composers and indie licensing efforts. Currently, after 27 years at Carlin America serving as Sr VP Creative (AC/DC, Turtles, James Brown, Billie Holiday, Lovin’ Spoonful, Bobby Darin), Steven is now expanding his company with the addition of Film & Television production along with his composers, producers and licensing.

2018 has been very active in signing over 20 new emerging and veteran artists upping his roster to 70 + artists and composers including the representation of Jim Messina’s publishing covering his iconic songs with Loggins & Messina, Poco and Buffalo Springfield. With key strategic placements in TV Series such as “This Is Us”, “Elementary”, “NCIS: Los Angeles, “Sweetbitter”, “LA’s Finest” and many new ones to come this Fall, Steven is forging a path with film and commercial placements as well as scoring of many new projects with his composers including two TV Movies, a Mini-Series, Feature film and a theme song for a new Discovery series.

Steven is always keeping his ears on the lookout for new talent to share with the supervisor community and loves the discovery of new talent for licensing.
