Jonnie Headshot

Jonnie Forster emerged as a music entrepreneur after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from San Diego State University. He soon joined A&M/Tuff Break Records to help implement marketing plans for their hip-hop roster. Jonnie moved next to Capitol Records’ catalog department, as a marketing executive, and was instrumental in vastly successful campaigns for the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, The Beach Boys, Tina Turner, Pink Floyd, and a host of others. Jonnie conceptualized and executive produced George Clinton’s “Greatest Funkin’ Hits” album securing artists like Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Coolio, and Digital Underground.

Jonnie hosted the first-ever, live, webcast of a performance with George Clinton and Macromedia, blowing up Internet servers all over the globe. At 23 years old, he was promoted to Director of A&R/New Business for EMI/Capitol Entertainment Properties, one of the youngest to hold this title in the company’s storied history.

Seeking more creative freedom, Jonnie and his brothers branched out and established the premier music supervision company for the video game industry, Forster Brothers Entertainment, with clients including EA Sports, Sony Computer Entertainment America, and Activision. The company continued to develop artists and entered into joint venture deals with Warner Bros Music, BMG Music, and then a full distribution deal with EMI.

Forster Bros. opened a business consulting division for entertainment projects most noteworthy representing the Palms Casino and Resort, the Gallo Winery, Image Ent., and The Bob Marley Estate to launch Marley Coffee. The management side of the business has seen clients ranging from global icons including Lauryn Hill (The Fugees), platinum rapper Lil Zane to developing future superstars like After Romeo.

In 2010, Forster’s new company, 4 SOUND, expanded to Asia entering into production alliances with Universal Music Japan and Sony Music Japan.  Additionally, filling a void left by limited focus and resources by major record labels, Forster joint ventured with Artist Advancement Academy (AAA) to provide the necessary training for artists to realize and exceed their potential.  AAA has clients ranging from independent record labels, management firms and major labels including Universal, Sony, Virgin, Avex  (Japan), and Amuse (Japan). 4 SOUND’s production and songwriting roster continues a string of hits for Miley Cyrus, Willow Smith, The Jonas Bros., German Pop Star Ivy Quianoo, Japansese Superstars Arashi, Kat-Tun, Namie Amuro, Kumi Koda, W-inds, and Korean Pop stars Shinee, TVXQ, Jay Park and 3 AM.

In 2016, 4 SOUND entered into a joint venture with Amuse Entertainment, Japan’s leading artist management and agency, to expand A&R and marketing resources for the U.S. The first slate includes pop group After Romeo, singer songwriter SHōTA, and crooner RUI.  In Asia, Amuse will oversee all management duties for the roster.  Forster’s focus will continue on expanding the roster of artists, producers, writers, and continuing the Bully Proof Tour (an innovative artist development platform for teen acts) while operating his Beverly Hills based recording studios.
