Jon has been involved in the music business for nearly 30 years. He started out as a house DJ in the late 80’s, which progressed into production, writing, owning several labels, a publishing company and developing software for his new tech business, Music Gateway.
With a wealth of independent experience within the Music Industry behind him, he developed the world’s first global business platform www.musicgateway.net with the aim of connecting talented like-minded people to collaborate on work opportunities. This purely b2b platform launched in August 2013 with thousands of industry professionals coming on board, it’s set to shake up the industry for the better.
Jon has spoken as part of many seminars and panels including NAB, Sync Summit and Canadian Music Week. He is also a regular guest lecturer at universities across the country including Cambridge, York and Southampton. His knowledge and insight into topics such as online collaboration, the progression of the music industry and assisting industry professionals in their careers has been invaluable and has received great feedback from students and tutors alike.
Most recently Music Gateway released the first project management software developed for the needs of the Creative and Music Industries – the Private Network. With founding members including Notting Hill Publishing and Island Records Dance, the Private Network provides the tools and functionality needed to manage any type of music industry projects.
