Kate Emht

Kate Emht is a composer/songwriter from St. Louis MO. Kate’s been writing music since the late 1980’s for live performance, film projects and pedagogical use. Her music is an eclectic mix of individual pieces in various genres with a focus on piano and instrumental music. The music reflects her classical training and love for historical music in general. Kate has decades of experience writing in different styles, but overall, her music tends to be highly thematic and distinctly emotionally expressive. She is the founder of the music production company Delinquent Records LLC and regularly collaborates with vocalist Angela La Strange and a variety of other session musicians. She is also the sole proprietor of her sheet music publishing company, Ms. Kate Music. She’s been teaching piano in both St. Louis and Los Angeles from 2001 to the present. Kate received a Bachelor of Music in Music Theory and Composition from Webster University in 2003 and a Master’s in Music History and Literature from SIUC in 2005. With a kind personality and eccentric sense of humor, Kate puts her whole heart into every project.
