NY PodCat consists of Ms Li Mann and Pete Sawchuk, both writer/singer/songwriter/arranger/musicians with both producing. Li played in clubs throughout NYC through the 80s and 90s, and though she got close, the record deal did not come. She then worked in music publishing while evaluating next creative possibilities. During this time she met and married Pete Sawchuk, and they now collaborate in writing, arranging, and performing. Pete had been writing and performing since age 12 and never stopped – he’s now playing in private events in the NYC area with Hank Lane Music.
“”Get Movin (Moving Thunder)'”” was the first NY PodCat co-write (February 2023) inspired by action movies. This was later chosen for Women of Substance’s online radio Podcast series called “”Music of Conscience”” in October 2023 (show #1508 “”Change Is Coming””). Another song written by Li in 2023 was also included in that series also, “”No You Don’t”” (show #1500, “”Media, Society, Politics & Greed””). Later in 2023, Li decided to re-invent an old Italian Christmas song and produced “”Ring All the Bells (O Bambino),” NY PodCat’s first streaming release. To date it has had 24,000+ streams with 12,000+ for the Spanish version. New release of “”Silence Reigns”” next week.
NY PodCat features numerous styles of pop music including: classic rock, pop/rock, dance pop genres (EDM, House), soulful pop, hip hop, and jazz. With a new chapter of musical adventures in synchronization underway, NY PodCat continues to evolve.
