Women in Music and SyncSummit, hosts of the the first annual Women in Sync Awards on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Webster Hall in New York City, will honor music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas (Twilight, Grey’s Anatomy) for her outstanding contributions to music and visual media by presenting her with the first Sound and Vision Award.

New York, NY, April 12, 2016 – Nationally recognized non-profit organization Women in Music (WIM) and the world’s leading event for branding, music and media, SyncSummit, are pleased to announce the selection of Chop Shop Music Supervision founder Alexandra Patsavas as the recipient of the Sound and Vision Award to be presented at the first annual Women in Sync Awards on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in New York City at Webster hall.

As the Founder and lead music supervisor of Chop Shop Music Supervision, Alexandra quickly earned a reputation for raising the bar in the quality of music selected for some of the world’s most popular television shows and films such as “The Twilight Saga” film series, “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Mad Men,” “The O.C.,” “Supernatural,” Scandal,” “Gossip Girl,” and many more.

A champion of independent artists, the three time Grammy®Award nominee Patsavas has been responsible for identifying and exposing a remarkable string of original music to mainstream artists. In the process, she has played an influential role in the development of such artists as Death Cab for Cutie, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Modest Mouse, and Ingrid Michaelson.

The Sound and Vision Award winner is selected by Women in Music and SyncSummit, and is  presented annually at the Women in Sync Awards to a woman who has made outstanding contributions to the business of music in media and messaging.

The Women in Sync awards will recognize the achievements of many female artists, music supervisors, managers, producers, creative directors, songwriters, brand and agency executives as well as those working in the fields of brand and interactive media.

The Awards are comprised of 16 categories designed to acknowledge women who make original music and license music for visual, interactive media, branded entertainment and advertising across television, film, games, mobile and the internet.

Fifteen of the winners will be selected through a two-round nomination process currently open to the public on www.womeninmusic.org and www.syncsummit.com.

The three most popular nominees in each category will make it to a finalist round, where the public will be asked to cast their vote. Voting officially ends on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 with all awards presented and announced at the Women in Sync Awards ceremony on June 15th.

Tickets to the ceremony are $25 for Women in Music members, $50 for non-members and included for all SyncSummit NY attendees.
