Before joining TCCC, William was the VP of Global Promotions, Integrated Marketing and Licensing at The Weinstein Company, in USA, where he secured unique marketing partnerships and promotions across all feature film and television properties. Feature film highlights include The King’s Speech, The Artist, Silver Linings Playbook, My Week With Marilyn, The Iron Lady, Scream 4, Django, and Inglorious Basterds, Project Runway, Project Runway All Stars, Supermarket Superstar, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency and Mob Wives.
Most recently, the Magic Johnson co-owned marketing agency, Walton Isaacson, brought William on board to launch their new TV studio division. The start-up studio was focused on restructuring the business model of how TV shows are sold to networks. In the first year William sold a movie of the week with Octavia Spencer and music legend/producer Suzanne de Passe, a comedy series with Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld, a format family game show and a period drama mini-series.
The business model was very simple: develop content for television/feature film with high end talent that lives on its own creatively, then pair it with financing from brand partners early in the process to help offset production and marketing costs at a network.
William has a BA degree in Communications and although a formal master’s degree in film was not obtained he spent several years traveling the world with Harvey Weinstein, learning his feature film and producing skills from the master himself; graduating with honours.
Outside of work William strives to enhance his tennis skills. He is on the Board of Directors for New Filmmakers of Los Angeles, which gives voice and forum to immerging filmmakers from around the world.
