[title size=”1″]Artist Spotlight, No.1: Black Strobe[/title]

Twice monthly on the SyncSummit website, and in the SyncSummit newsletter, we’ll feature one of the artists our sister company SyncExchange works with (Click here for licensing inquiries).

This edition of Artist Spotlight features Arnaud Rebotini, the Founder/Leader of the French Rock/Techno group Black Strobe:

Arnaud-Rebotini-2013-Q-Caffier-(5)
I’ll always remember the first time I heard Arnaud Rebotini play.

It was at about 1AM in 2003 at MIDEM in Cannes, in the basement of the Noga Hilton. I was with my buddy (and fellow Francophile/music guy/former head of digital @EMI) Tom Ryan and his sister. As soon as we set foot on the dance floor, I fell hopelessly, eternally (musically) in love with Arnaud and Black Strobe a love that has only grown deeper and sweeter as time goes by.

Now in a Game Console Near You

Fast forward to our next encounter (this time at SyncSummit Paris in April 2014), and it’s clear that Arnaud and Black Strobe have covered a lot of musical ground between Rock and Roll, techno and everywhere in between since that steamy night in a Cannes casino disco.

And we’re all the better for it.

Not only has he kept the electro fires burning bright through releasing Black Strobe albums like Burn Your Own Church and the just-released EP (June 2014) Going Back Home, with his recording of the Blues standard “I’m A Man,” he’s become a cause cèlébre in the worlds of music and visual media, scoring placements of his music  in films like The Wolf Of Wall Street, TV shows like The Vampire Diaries, video games like Grand Theft Auto 5, Assassin’s Creed and ads/trailers for Django Unchained, Dior, Seat, NASCAR, among others.

If Arnaud’s music can make this guy look like a man, imagine what he can do for your project

And, as a composer, he’s scored soundtracks for films like Eastern Boys (directed by 2013 Mostra Award Winner Robin Campillo

With a CV like that, it’s little surprise Arnaud Rebotini and Black Strobe are on the go-to lists of many music supervisors, ad producers, film editors and visual creators looking for great ad, trailer, video game, film and TV music.

And his new EP Going Back Home builds upon this strong foundation of listenable, addictive, danceable, syncable music, with tracks that include:
