As a songwriter in living in Detroit’s Corktown arts district, Mike Galbraith owes as much to the Replacements as he does Bob Dylan. His songs speak simple truths and lay out insightful stories marked by modern tales, oft beset by booze and heartbreak—like any good songwriter does. Hooks and sad songs about relationships are prevalent and his unique voice sets him apart from other singer-songwriters. Come for the voice, stay for the stories.
Finster is Galbraith’s first full-album release, engineered and recorded by Jim Diamond in 2015 (White Stripes, The Hight Strung, Mooney Suzuki). An upcoming two song E.P. is scheduled for an July 2017 release, as well as a full-length album to follow.
