“My songwriting began when I was in a girl group by the name of Pure Essence. One of the members heard me singing on a tape and said, “What song is that?”. I told her I was just making something up after I finished my vocal warmups. She said “Really!! Well maybe you need to be writing”. I didn’t think too much of it, but I became intrigued by the challenge. I started putting songs together and began my journey as a songwriter.
I currently write songs with Anthony Davis and Matt Anthony (Cash Cab). There is always something new to learn while writing a song. A little over a year ago, I co-wrote a song in which Kim Viera a Republic Records Recording Artist recorded. I find that writing a song gives you the opportunity to tell your story, someone else’s story or a story not yet lived. ”
