Stacey Powells – Owner, Stacey Dies Cue Sheets
Stacey Powells has been in the music clearance and cue sheet business for almost 30 years. Her career began in 1982 licensing music for video jukebox distribution with Video Music International. From 1984 – 2001 Stacey worked for Paramount Pictures, music department handling music clearances, licensing and generating cue sheets for countless Viacom and Paramount film and television projects including “The Arsenio Hall Show,” “The Howie Mandel Show,” “Happy Days,” “Laverne & Shirley,” “Entertainment Tonight.” “Jag,” “Diagnosis Murder,” “Seven Days,” and “Star Trek: Voyager.” She is currently working on Jim Henson’s production of “Dinosaur Train.”
In addition to licensing music and music cue sheet generation for several award shows (CMA’s, Prism Awards) Stacey continues to license music and generate music cue sheets for feature films, television programs and documentaries. She was the music clearance supervisor for the “Orlando Jones Show” which aired on FX and was the Music Clearance Supervisor for “On-Air With Ryan Seacrest.”
Stacey’s career includes co-hosting KPFK’s “For The Record” hosted by Samm Brown, and instructing music clearance and cue sheet workshops through the NARIP & the Film Music Network as well as independent workshops and lectures at various film schools in Los Angeles, Nashville and New York including lectures at the Producers Guild of America.
